[Ab] Resumo:The Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA)-Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) Core Set working group recently published the updated 2016 psoriatic arthritis (PsA) core domain set, a set of disease features that should be measured in all clinical trials. At the GRAPPA annual meeting in July 2016, the PsA working group presented the updated PsA core domain set endorsed by 90% of participants at OMERACT in May 2016 and drafted a roadmap for the development of the PsA core outcome measurement set. In this manuscript, we review the development process of the PsA core domain set and the ongoing and proposed work streams for development of a PsA core measurement set.

[Ab] Resumo:In line with the global trend to have disease-related organizations be more patient-centric in their approach, the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) has made substantial progress incorporating patient research partners (PRP) into psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis research. Herein we summarize the involvement of PRP at the GRAPPA 2016 annual meeting. Plans for future PRP engagement were also discussed.

[Ab] Resumo:At the 2016 annual meeting of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), we presented the case for quantitatively assessing the extent of both psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis in the clinical setting, with a particular focus on the validation and expanded novel use of the PGAxBSA (static physician's global assessment × body surface area of involvement) in the era of targeted metrics. Herein, we summarize our presentation.

[Ab] Resumo:In advance of its 2016 annual meeting, members of the steering committee of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) convened for a strategic planning meeting. The purpose of this advance meeting was to review the work of GRAPPA since its inception in 2003, ascertain and review the current priorities of the group, and devise a strategy for proceeding. The key accomplishments of GRAPPA to date, priorities and objectives for the next 5 years, and goals and opportunities for the GRAPPA committees were discussed. GRAPPA has a responsibility and commitment to patients, its members, and partners to innovate, inspire, and improve knowledge and the ability to care for people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

[Ab] Resumo:Optimal management of patients with both psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) necessitates collaboration among dermatologists and rheumatologists. In this manuscript, we discuss challenges and opportunities for dual care models for patients with psoriasis and PsA and the results of a survey of combined clinics based in North America.

[Ab] Resumo:At the 2016 annual meeting of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), the treatment recommendations committee summarized its work and presented its plans for future updates. The committee announced a partnership between GRAPPA and Guideline Central to develop a pocket reference guide to the treatment recommendations. Because key new data appear regularly, the group discussed publishing periodic updates of the recommendations online through the GRAPPA Website as well as a goal of publishing another major update of the recommendations in 2020. The committee also announced that 2 GRAPPA members were awarded a grant from the International League of Associations for Rheumatology to look at potential adaptations of international treatment recommendations for resource-poor settings, particularly in South America and Africa.

[Ab] Resumo:In 2016, members of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) published their updated Treatment Recommendations for Psoriatic Arthritis. This paper describes how a patient-oriented guide to those treatment recommendations was developed by GRAPPA's patient research partners (PRP). We describe how the PRP developed a process for creating and implementing the guide. We also describe how we evaluated the diversity of the guide's potential patient audience, i.e., where each individual was in their diagnosis and treatment needs, and how we made the patient guide attractive, readable, and available to as broad a patient audience as possible.

[Ab] Resumo:Members of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), in partnership with KPMG LLP (UK), conducted interviews at selected research centers around the globe to analyze the process of care in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (PsA): pre-diagnosis, referral and diagnosis, treatment, and followup. Ten major challenges emerged, many of which were universally recognized across centers; the top 4 included limited awareness of PsA among non-rheumatologists, a disparate approach to care, late referral and diagnosis, and an inadequate management of comorbidities.

[Ab] Resumo:Rapid advances in effective treatments for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) have emerged from improved understanding of cell subsets and critical mediators that promote tissue inflammation and destruction. More specifically, increased knowledge of innate immunity and the important involvement of cytokines in the interleukin (IL)-23-IL-17 axis as key mediators of psoriatic plaque and joint inflammation in both psoriasis and PsA have led to new theories of immunopathogenesis. Herein we summarize recent discussions on IL-17-related pathways and their relationship to psoriasis and PsA.
